IndexKenya Project - The Kenya Indexing Project - IndexKenya.Org - An online database resource for Kenyan Newspapers: "Indexkenya.org is an online index of articles published in Nairobi newspapers. The focus of the articles indexed includes culture, law/governance, reproductive health, and other topics about which information is difficult to obtain.
The index will ultimately include details of articles published since 1980. The actual content of an article is not provided, rather online citations describing the articles. Hard copy of any article indexed can be ordered directly from the Kenya Indexing Project. This database will be updated on a regular basis. " 12501 indexed articles so far...

Gender and Media Summit 12-15 September 2004 Johannesburg South Africa: "As part of the Gender and Media Summit in September the Media Institute for Southern Africa (MISA) and Gender Links will be launching the first Southern Africa Gender and Media Awards.
The awards will acknowledge excellence in gender aware reporting since the Gender and Media Baseline Study (GMBS) in 2003. The GMBS was the most comprehensive study ever to be undertaken regionally and globally on how women and men feature in the news. It showed significant gender gaps in the representation of women in the media, as well as biases in the way women and men are portrayed. "
