International Aid & Trade: "The second International Aid & Trade Africa Conference and Exhibition (IA&TA2004), builds on the success of the inaugural event last year and the established International Aid & Trade events held annually in New York and Geneva. It will again be held at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Nairobi, Kenya, this time over three days (instead of two), from 7-9 October 2004. The choice of Nairobi as the venue for this event is because it is recognised as the 'humanitarian aid hub' for Africa and the place where the United Nations is currently expanding its African headquarters."

International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (ISDR): "UN/ISDR* is launching an international art contest ? aimed at both schools and communities ? for young people aged 16 and under in the lead up to the World Conference on Disaster Reduction to be held 18-22 January 2005 in Kobe, Hyogo (Japan). The best 12 pictures that illustrate what measures can be taken to reduce risk and vulnerability to disasters will be selected for publication in a UN/ISDR 2005 calendar that will be disseminated to over 5,000 participants of the World Conference and all around the world. In addition, the pictures will be framed and exhibited on-site at the World Conference."
